Mentoring Walk 2023
Atreyee Borooah Thekedath, member of the Vital Voices Global Leadership Network has been organizing the “Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk” in Guwahati for the last several years. This is a part of a global movement to inspire a rising generation of young women through mentorship.
This walk is held in celebration of International Women’s Day in communities around the world, the Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk convenes established women leaders and emerging women leaders to walk together in their community. As they walk, they discuss their personal and professional challenges and successes to establish a mentoring relationship.
Held on 18th March, 2023 at the Jayanta Kumar-Lakhimi Borooah Sadan, this year’s walk had Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, entrepreneur and wife of Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma as the Chief Guest.
An illustrious panel of women volunteered their time to mentor nearly a hundred young women from Royal Global University, Downtown University and Apollo Nursing College.
This initiative has helped many women who wanted to learn from the mentors’ experience and perspective. It’s the ideal opportunity to demonstrate the power of women’s leadership and unite women in support of other women.
