Webcom (India)’s social initiatives are guided by Atreyee Borooah Thekedath, an entrepreneur in the technology sector who believes in “Paying it Forward”, an ideology she has imbibed as an alumna of the coveted Fortune/U.S. State Department Global Women’s Mentoring Partnership Program. She is also a member of the Vital Voices Leadership Network, a worldwide network of women leaders.
Atreyee is an alumna of the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Program for Women Entrepreneurs.
Though Atreyee Borooah Thekedath is involved with many organizations in different capacities, her heart is in entrepreneurship. Way back in 1999, after a brief stint at Hewlett Packard Pte Ltd Singapore, she returned back to her home state Assam to start her company Webcom(India) Pvt. Ltd., which remains one of Assam’s leading technology companies.
Through this social initiatives vertical of Webcom (India), she has been implementing different initiatives of social relevance for many years.
Atreyee Borooah Thekedath is an Independent Director of Agra Smart City and a member of the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing, Jabalpur under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. She is also a director of Assam Hospitals Ltd (Apollo Hospitals Guwahati).
She was an Independent Director at Balmer Lawrie, a Mini-Ratna-I Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India from Jan 2017 to Jan 2020.
She was a National Council member of CII’s Young Indians and has successfully executed several projects during her tenure.
